Do you treat children and teens?

I do not treat children but I am happy to work with teenagers under one condition: The teen must actually want to see a therapist. Too often parents want help for their teens, make an appointment with a therapist, and the teen never wanted to go in the first place.

Do you work with couples?

That depends. The first question I ask every couple is “do both of you actually want help for this relationship”? Too often one person has coerced the other into attending therapy. I have even had instances when one person has already hired an attorney and is just coming to pacify the soon to be ex-partner. I work with couple’s when both people are committed to the process.

Does insurance cover couple’s therapy?

No. Insurance will only cover a medically treatable diagnosis.
